Prostate cancer

DISCOVER THE CTCA DIFFERENCE IN PERSONALIZED CANCER CARE

At Cancer Treatment Centers of America®(CTCA), we understand that prostate cancer affects men differently, and side effects may affect bowel, urinary and sexual function.
That’s why we combine supportive care therapies, including sexual health treatments, with conventional treatments, such as 4D radiation therapy, hormone therapy andimmunotherapy. Your multidisciplinary care team will work with you to develop a personalized plan to treat your prostate cancer in a way that fits your individual needs and goals. We put patients at the center of their care and treat them with the compassion, dignity and respect they deserve. It’s what we call the Mother Standard®of care, treating you like we’d want our own family to be treated.

How are we different?

Urgency

Appointments are available in as little as 24 hours, and many treatment plans are developed within 48 hours of a patient’s first visit.

Convenience

We’ll take care of gathering your relevant medical records and making your transportation, travel and lodging arrangements.

Expertise

We have the expertise to confirm a diagnosis or treatment plan and offer options that may not have been considered. We can also assess your risk for prostate cancer.

Sexual health focus

我们patient-centered focus is on treating patients holistically. That means addressing side effects from the cancer or its treatments as they arise. Prostate cancer often causes sexual side effects, including trouble getting an erection, having an orgasm and fathering children. If your treatment includes hormone therapy, you may experience lower testosterone levels, which may affect your sex drive. A sexual health specialist may be able to prescribe testosterone hormone therapy, if appropriate, as well as medicine and other strategies to address erectile dysfunction.

Comprehensive team approach

Your prostate cancer care team works all under one roof. That means you have access to state-of-the-art cancer treatments and supportive care therapies all in one place. Your team is led by a medical oncologist, and your treatment plan is coordinated by a care manager dedicated to orchestrating your schedule, communicating with the rest of your care team, getting your questions answered and helping you access your test results in a timely manner. Your care team may also include a surgical and/or radiation oncologist, an interventional pathologist, oncology nurses and a variety of supportive care clinicians.

"At CTCA®, the difference is teamwork. Here, the physicians truly work together on the same team to help our patients."

Access to clinical trials

Clinical trials are critical tools researchers and doctors use to determine the safety and effectiveness of new drugs and therapies. At CTCA®,我们是committed to offering our patients innovative and new cancer treatments, including access to clinical trials when appropriate. These trials may provide therapies that are not yet widely available to qualified patients who have exhausted conventional treatment options or whose cancer is advanced or difficult to treat. Our cancer doctors and researchers will work with you to determine if you qualify for a trial and help you find one that’s right for you.

I researched many different hospitals and cancer centers to find the best medical team for me. I learned how to develop my treatment plan, then reviewed it with my mentors, as well as my spiritual, psychological and medical care teams."
